He did not since 1985 improve upon himself. He was barely 43 when he was booted out, and that was just a lazy man who did not consider going back to school, establishing a modern business, getting involved in the corporate world, learning about the goings on in the world or even attending the Council of State meetings where all former Heads of State meet with incumbents to discuss national issues...
He was just plain Relic and total bereft of ideas and nuances on how the world economy operates...
Worse still, he spent 12 years trying to be president without as much as a blueprint, a plan, a specific attempt at studying the country he wants to govern!
Nigeria has moved steadily from 1985 to the 21st century politics and economy, and sadly Lies, Deceit, Propaganda and Subterfuge led to the repackaged hyped Buhari, fossilized and absolutely ignorant, Clueless, yet stubborn and Obstinate!
Certainly, what you sow, you Reap and the result of this error is what you get when you'll need a year to convince a medieval president on the dictate of a 21st century economy!
To call Buhari a failure is just to make it a little moderate.
Better to say a Monumental Disaster if the type Never Ever seen before in modern history!
For 6 months Buhari did not appoint a cabinet, simply did nothing except carry around anger like luggage while the economy went adrift and was bound to capsize unless urgent attention was given to it!
Yet within 3 months this utterly hopeless President appointed 5 media men, no economic team.
A very very naive unfit entity who was nursing anger and carrying out selective persecution instead of prosecution of the opposition party. A man that stolen monies from all APC governors installed simply became obsessed with probing the election funds of the opposition.
And when eventually he managed to appoint an economic team in his 8th month, lo and behold, a lawyer, a pastor, Lai Mohammed, and 2 accountants, NO ECONOMISTS!!
OLODO!!
That we are in this mess is not even
the issue, the re-issue is the frustration within his own circle of a
few guys who could steer him right but would always meet a stubborn,
Obstinate wall!
The world's economists, local and international have a described Buhari's unrealistic and infantile policies as retrogressive and unproductive.
To add to it, his divisive attitude that has such heated the polity has led to restiveness and instability everywhere.
His profound silence to the atrocities of the Fulani murdering herdsmen simply is that signal that his avowed fealty to a Government of the North and bigotry will be the doom of this country.
History will remember him as running the most, in-adept, artless, heartless, awkward, feckless, feeble, impotent, incapable, incompetent, ineffective, ineffectual, inadequate government in the history of this country!
