PROJECT EVE-CORPS MEMBERS IMPACT FEMALE STUTEDNTS IN LAGOS

The Acer Group consisting of five Corps members among the set of Corps members trained by FifthGear Plus in Marketplace Readiness Programme (MPR) successfully trained 50 female students of Omole Junior and Senior Grammar School, Ikeja in different Skill Sets after a 3 weeks training engagement and inspirational talks.

The project tagged: Project EVE is a Group Community Development Service (CDS) Project by the Corps members in a bid to say NO to prostitution, promote Gender equality, improve self-esteem among females and encourage female Entrepreneurs. The female folks are the foundation and backbone of everyman, every family, every nation and the world.

The training which lasted 3 weeks engaged the students in different skill sets ranging from catering which featured Cake baking in the 1st week facilitated by a young female professional, Miss Ola Damilola, MD Lakodabi’s Pastries, Gele tying and Makeover in the 2nd week while the 3rd week featured more skill sets such as Ankara Bead making, Book wrapping, Hair accessories, and also Gele tying both facilitated by Mrs. FeyisayoAdegoke, MD, Feedy Creations with her training.

The Principal of the school in her remarks was amazed at the creativity the students exhibited and thanked the Corps members for their effort in carrying out the project the school. The participants were equally happy for what they have learnt and promised to start making money with the new skills.
The leader of the group, Daniel Olawande also appreciated the principal and the students while also thanking Mr. NiyiAdesanya, CEO Fifgthgear Plus, for the opportunity given to the Corps members and the impacts of Marketplace Readiness Programme on the Corps members.
The programme was funded through crowd-funding with support from FifthGear Plus, Microsoft, Feedy Creations and Lakodabi’s Pastries.
